The UK prime minister said he would “take responsibility” after attending a garden party in Downing Street during lockdown in May 2020. If there was another chance, he would have sent someone back.
Speaking to Parliament on Wednesday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he wanted to apologise for attending the Downing Street Gardens reception, adding that he “must take responsibility” for events that occurred.
Johnson added that he “Just after 6pm on 20 May 2020, walked into that garden and thanked a group of staff” but”Implicitly assumes this is a work event. “
“In hindsight, I should have sent everyone back inside.I should find other ways to thank them. “
