Tens of thousands of people have been detained, tortured, raped and murdered by President Bashar al-Assad’s regime during the Syrian civil war.

One of his intelligence officers, Anwar Raslan, has been on trial in Koblenz, Germany, since April 2020 – accused of involvement in the crimes.
