Jamie Dimon says the U.S. is heading for its best economic growth in decades.
“We’re going to have the best growth we’ve ever had this year, and I think maybe sometime after the Great Recession,” Dimon told CNBC’s Bertha Combs at the 40th annual JPMorgan Healthcare Conference. Next year will be good too.”
Dimon, CEO and Chairman JPMorgan, said growth will come even if the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates more than investors expected. Goldman Sachs With four rate hikes expected this year, Dimon said he would be surprised if the central bank only raised rates four times.
“Inflation is probably worse than they think, and they’re raising rates more than people think,” Dimon said. “I would personally be surprised if it were only added four times.”
“If we’re lucky, the Fed can slow down and we’ll have what they call a soft landing,” he added.
