Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that the company’s Model S Plaid car may be launched in China early next year.

Late Sunday night, when answering a question on Twitter about when electric cars would enter China, Musk said “maybe around March.”

Tesla did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for more information.

With a population of more than 1.4 billion people, China is the world’s largest electric vehicle market.It is home to several other electric car manufacturers, including Xiaopeng And Wei Lai.

The car has a range of 520 miles and a top speed of 200 miles (320 kilometers) per hour.
