Mexico City-On Thursday, the attackers left 10 assaulted and murdered bodies in front of the governor’s office in the state of Zacatecas in north-central Mexico

Governor David Monreal said that when he learned of this terrible discovery, he was starting to work.

Monreal said: “They came and left them here…obviously beaten and injured corpses.”

The Federal Ministry of Public Safety said that a man drove the truck into the square, then got out of the car and walked away along an alley.

Monreal said, “We got a cursed legacy from previous governments.”

Zacatecas is an important transit point for drugs, especially the powerful synthetic painkiller fentanyl, which moved north to the US border.

Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador failed to significantly reduce the number of homicides. In the first 11 months of 2021, 31,615 people were killed, which is only 3.6% lower than the 32,814 in 2020.
